All of the pregnant patients under our care will be planned for delivery at Bluewater Health. We are grateful to be supported in delivering high quality care by 24-hour coverage from hospital pediatrics and anesthesia. Please visit the following very helpful website for details about what to expect when delivering a baby at Bluewater Health and for details regarding arranging your pre-admission visit:

After birth, babies will need their own doctor to look after them who is not an OBGYN. Your family doctor will generally be able to care for your baby unless your baby has complex medical needs, or you prefer to seek out a local pediatrician. There are a number of office-based community pediatricians in Sarnia and upon request, we can provide names of local pediatrician offices who you could then reach out to to see if they are accepting patients at this time.
Please call 9-1-1 or go to your nearest Emergency Department if you believe you are having a serious medical emergency and need to seek immediate medical attention.
If you are over 20 weeks gestation in a pregnancy, planning to deliver at Bluewater Health under the care of an obstetrician, and you have a pregnancy-related concern, please call the Maternal-Infant Child Unit (MIC) at Bluewater Health at 519-464-4400 at extension 4427 to speak to an obstetrical nurse.
If you are having a mental health crisis, please call the CMHA (Canadian Mental Health Association) for Lambton-Kent at their 24/7 crisis line at 1-800-307-4319. You can also dial 9-8-8 newly Canada-wide to reach the Canadian Suicide Crisis Helpline (https://988.ca/).
